Groomer Operator of the Year: This is presented to an outstanding volunteer who makes sure that the trails we ride all winter long are as smooth as possible. Chances are this person also does a ton of additional work; including fixing the broken stuff and washing any dirty dishes in the sink.

Club of the Year: Do you feel your club has recently made great strides in bettering snowmobiling? Has your membership been successful in hosting charity events or legislative rides? Maybe things are just clicking, and membership has climbed from 20 to 200 and you are holding some fantastic family events that are promoting the sport. Any success story is an entry, let SAM know all about your club’s hard work and good fortune.

Dealer of the Year: It’s clear that every club has at least one dealer who works closely with the club. Often they donate items for raffles or help fix grooming equipment. A few are so dedicated they even donate big-ticket items that are valued in the thousand of dollars. Do you have a local snowmobile dealer who understands this important relationship? That’s a solid nomination in my book.

Legislator of the Year: SAM has always had fantastic relations with our legislators and officials at the State House, but suppose your local State Rep. or Senator has been of great assistance. Let’s let that legislator know how much we appreciate it. You can help us present that award at the State House!

Family of the Year: On any given weekend we see snowmobile families hard at work for their club - some clear trails, others run events. Many families are multi-faceted; Dad grooms, Mom is a club officer and the kids fold and stamp the club mailing. And this is on the weekdays, never mind the weekend! You know who they are, please let everyone else know about the great families that dedicate themselves to your club and SAM.

Junior Snowmobiler of the Year: Speaking of families, it seems that there is always a teenager who is out there with his Mom & Dad doing the work of four adults (It was nice to be young, I do miss it). Chances are, this youngster will be President of your club in a few short years! Let’s keep the flame burning and recognize these talented kids now.

Snowmobiler of the Year: This award is considered the big enchilada by many, although most recipients could have easily won any of the other awards. The criteria are pretty self-explanatory. Who is the person in your club that is always there when needed? The one, who through the magic of body-doubles or some other mad science, has an ability to get the trails cleared and groomed while building positive relations with landowners, town officials and legislators. On occasion this person also puts out a fire or two that was lit by someone else. This is a gem in the rough and any club that has such a member knows it. Some would prefer to keep that persons name a secret, as they’re afraid a neighboring club will kidnap said member. Take the risk, put the spotlight on this worthy soul, they deserve it!
