Snowmobiling Under Attack!
The Center for Biological Diversity and Winter Wildlands Alliance, through Advocates for the West, have filed suit against the Forest Service in California and Idaho. Among the charges are the adverse impacts on our resources, including air quality, water quality, vegetation and wildlife, and other recreationists.

They allege the increased power has changed the sport, allowing for much farther access into the backcountry and activities such as highmarking.

The Plaintiffs ask that the Forest Service Travel Management Rule be amended to remove the OSV exemption to include snowmobiles and be awarded reasonable costs, litigation expenses and attorney fees. For additional information contact the ACSA Office.
