SAM is Committed to Enhancing Safe Snowmobiling in Massachusetts. The Snowmobile Association of Massachusetts (SAM) strives to develop and maintain an expanding interconnected snowmobile trail system, allowing snowmobile enthusiasts to travel from Worcester County to the Berkshires, in a safe, efficient manner. There are approximately 9,000 members of SAM, of which 70% are married and over the age of 36 years–a mature responsible group of citizens. According to a study conducted by the University of Massachusetts, snowmobiling has an economic impact of $65 million per year in our state alone! That’s taxable dollars.

Established in 1972; we are one of the oldest & most active clubs in the area. We are also one of the few clubs in Western Mass with our own Club House offering a full bar, food & hall while relaxing from a day of riding. The Burgy Bullets name comes from the train that once ran through the town of Williamsburg, where we are located in the village of Haydenville. While riding our groomed trails, you will find access to all main corridors through the heart of Western Mass. The trails offer some of the most diverse snowmobiling from mountains to wooded trails, to open fields.

Welcome to the Chesterfield Four Seasons Club. As a club we promote all outdoor activities. Our club works with many different user groups to promote all outdoor adventures and activities. Our club is located across from the Chesterfield State Gorge. We are located along the Westfield River and have a Club House with ample parking. The Westfield River provides us with a 7 mile stretch, right down the side of the river, from our club house to the Knightville basin/dam. This is one of, if not the most beautiful trail in Western MA. One of the clubs main tasks is keeping the river trail open and safe on a yearlong basis.

Indianhead Snowmobile Club


We are a club that maintains trails in Heath, Rowe, Charlemont, and Hawley. We are all volunteers from trail work to grooming. Joining a local club does not give you the right to ride on the trails it gives you permission to ride on trails when permitted. Club dues goes towards grooming maintenance, fuel, signs, and bridges.

Leicester Snowmobile Club


The Leicester club thrived in the early 1970s as the Leicester Snow Rovers, but faded out in the 1980s. A different group of enthusiasts got it running in 1996, re-establishing the trail system and building the membership. The trail system is designed to allow convenient pullovers for food or gas, with easy access to Eller’s Restaurant, Hotdog Annies and Barber’s Crossing. The Leicester trails are part of an intricate network, intersecting with the Spencer trail system and connecting riders throughout the state and into New Hampshire.

Mill Valley Snowmobile Club


Our Mill Valley Snowmobile Club located in Belchertown, Mass. was incorporated in 1971 as a non-profit corporation with the State of Massachusetts. Our trail system consists of approximately 80 miles of trails. Our trail system connects with the town of Pelham, Granby and Hadley. Our club meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month from September through March at 7:00p.m. at the Recreation Hall off Route 202 in Belchertown. We are fortunate to have an active Trails Crew that works on readying the trails on weekends from October through the first snowfall.

We are a small club located in western MA on the eastern slopes of the Berkshires, we maintain about 60 miles of interconnected trails offering food and fuel and some of the best views around. But we are much more than this! First off we are all volunteers! “Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless but because they are priceless!”

Lunenburg Snow Riders Snowmobile Club


Lunenburg Snow Riders (LSR) provide multi-use trail stewardship across a 4-town area (Lunenburg, Townsend, Ashburnham, and Ashby). LSR, in partnership with other trail stewards, maintains and grooms trails that support recreational use year round. LSR maintains a trail system of 24 snowmobile trails, with many more as “works in progress.”

Goshen Highlanders Snowmobile Club


The GHSC was established in 2003. The GHSC maintains and grooms about 40 miles of trail. Our trails include the DAR state forest and connect to neighboring towns and clubs such as Ashfield, Chesterfield, Williamsburg and points beyond. Visit Spruce corner Restaurant for some great food as well as pick up your Trail pass. You can also pick up your trail pass at the Goshen General store as well as some trail snacks or they carry many parts right in the store. Both are right on the trail.
