Four projects will be presented.  The project located at H.O. Three projects will be presented.  There are two projects located at Townsend State Forest.  One proposed project involves light thinning of hardwood trees while providing an opportunity for local residents to cut firewood for home use.  The second project at Townsend proposes to use thinning in white pine-hardwood stands to improve growth and uneven age management to regenerate native species in white pine and red pine plantations.  The project located at Oakham State Forest proposes to use uneven and even age management in Norway spruce and white pine plantations and mixed oak forests to regenerate native species.

Thursday, March 31, 2016 – 6 PM – DCR Amherst Field Office, 40 Cold Storage Dr, Amherst

A project located in Wendell State Forest will be presented.  The project proposes to use even age management to release and further regenerate native species under a red pine plantation and use uneven age management to regenerate native species in a white pine plantation and an oak hardwood stand.  An alternative proposal using even age management to regenerate the white pine plantation will be discussed.
