Could electric snowmobiles become a reality? A story by the Finnish publication Helsingin Sanomat reports a silent running snowmobile being tested in a laboratory atop the Arctic Circle. The plan is to put the electric machines into service for the 100,000 tourists who visits the Finnish Lapland area every year. “A cross-country skier puffing his way uphill makes more sound than this electric snowmobile”, says Jyrki Niva, CEO of Lapland Safaris.
