Toys for Tots is a program that helps distribute new toys to children who may not get a Christmas gift otherwise. There are many more families this year who are having a hard time feeding and clothing their kids and the prospect of also buying Christmas gifts may be totally out of reach for them. These children never asked to be in these situations nor did many of the parents, but it happens. These families may be your neighbor, relatives, or a total stranger, but they all deserve to see a gift on Christmas day.
The SAM clubs have been given the challenge of collecting new, unwrapped gifts and bringing them to the December SAM meeting. Cash donations are also accepted. These will be brought to Greenfield Savings Bank for their Toys for Tots donation center. The most often heard comment heard last year was, “Wow, this is going to make a lot of kids very happy.” Last year I believe we had 88 gifts and around $180.00 dollars. With the demand on charitable organizations increasing lets see if we can also increase our giving. Let’s fill the SAM meeting area with toys for tots!!!
